As you may have heard, another trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie dropped yesterday, revealing several cool Nintendo easter eggs and the voice acting of Princess Peach and Luigi.

While Anya Taylor-Joy's portrayal of Peach seems to be largely well-received, it's Charlie Day's take on Luigi that appears to have won the day on social media.

The trailer for the film shows a moment where Bowser, having kidnapped Luigi, appears to want to "torture" (in a PG sense) him for information about Mario. Day's line reading and eventual scream in the scene apparently won the internet's hearts, and many have since expressed that he's a "perfect choice" for Luigi.

From watching the clip, you may have noticed that Day does not seem to be putting on any sort of accent in the scene. His performance as Luigi is really not all that dissimilar to his normal voice popularized by his years on It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

You may also remember that Chris Pratt got heartily roasted for his "Mario voice" being his "regular voice," albeit with a very slight Italian inflection.

Despite this, many agreed that Charlie Day's normal voice worked perfectly for Luigi, though the same could not be said for Pratt.

It appears the second Mario movie trailer did little to change the internet's perspective that the rest of the cast is acting circles around Chris Pratt, but we'll have to wait until the release date on April 7th to know if that's true for the entire movie.
