Nothing you can say will convince me that Joseph was just as lucid in Part 4 as he was in Parts 3 and 2, and that he was just pretending to be going deaf/senile to fuck with everybody.

Having read part 4 a bit i would disagree with you, but then i remembered he pretended to be DIo after Jotaro revived him.
