In the games it took till island 4 for Lillie to finally perk up. As well as after the game is over for her to go to kanto and become a trainer.

In the anime, we are at island 1 and she is not only became a trainer already but is becoming much more lively than the timid person we knew in the first couple episodes of Alola.
