For those who don't know: in 1929 the Stock Markets crashed, leading to the Great Depression.

The 2008 recession was nothing, it peaked at around 10% of the population being unemployed but has been improving since then.

Back during the Great Depression, though, the rate was a terrifying 25%. People were literally selling their children in a desperate attempt to afford food.
