Basically the premise of the old South Park episode where the parents effectively kill the Chinpokomon craze by fully indulging in it themselves and make the kids no longer want to play with them as a result.

High chance nothing comes of this. Dozens of TV shows get pitched per week and only a very small percentage of them move past that phase, with even fewer making it all the way to a pilot episode. It's like whenever you see a news headline about "Movie based on X video game in the works," and then never hear of it again.
