Why Are 'Deltarune' Fans Saying 'Deltarune Tomorrow?' The Memes About The Long-Awaited 'Toby Fox' Game Explained
Fans have been waiting a long time for the next installment in the beloved video game series Deltarune, and they're letting it be known with the delusional phrase "Deltarune tomorrow."
Even though the game's developer Toby Fox has promised a 2025 release date, fans still aren't happy with the lack of a specific date, leading to impatience levels rivaled only by those waiting for Hollow Knight: Silksong.
So why exactly are Deltarune fans saying "Deltarune tomorrow" and when are Deltarune: Chapters 3 & 4 actually coming out? Here's what we know.
What Is The 'Deltarune Tomorrow' Meme?
Deltarune is the follow-up to the massively popular RPG Undertale. So far, the first two chapters of the game have been released, with the second chapter coming out back in 2021.
Since then, chapters three and four, which are being released together, have been in development but fans are starting to grow impatient after four years of waiting.
The phrase "Deltarune tomorrow" has now become an ironic, cope-filled phrase to joke about Deltarune coming out "tomorrow," with "tomorrow" being whenever the day after you read a meme using the phrase happens to be.
The phrase has been used like this since around March 2024 but recently saw a big resurgence in February 2025.
How Is 'Deltarune Tomorrow' Used In Memes?
The phrase "Deltarune tomorrow" is used in a variety of memes, including fan art and photoshops of preexisting meme formats, to ironically claim that Deltarune: Chapters 3 & 4 are coming out.
Some Deltarune fans joke that by saying the phrase every day, they might will it into existence. They also believe that, if the game is surprise released, they'll eventually be right by saying "Deltarune tomorrow" every day in 2025.
As far as the actual release date for the next two chapters of the game, Toby Fox confirmed they'll drop in 2025 but hasn't said a specific date.
Recently, maybe because of the memes, he made a post to Bluesky updating everyone on the game's progress, writing that they're "still console testing," fixing bugs and implementing the game so that "saves from the DEMO carry over to the main game on consoles."
So, while the game seems to be mostly done, there's still progress to be made. Until then, fans will have to just keep chanting "Deltarune tomorrow" and hope for the best.
