Oh no, there's been quite a few bad examples of writing done for vader over the years, like the one "alternate timeline" where Vader survives at the end of episode 6 and just joins the rebellion without issue after all he had done.

Pretty sure Vader knows Obi-Wan and Yoda are still alive. But I suppose neither of them are in a position to deny him.
