On February 2, 2022, news broke that there was a shipment of adulterated cocaine sold at Puerta 8, a neighbourhood in Tres de Febrero, Buenos Aires Province, causing 20 deaths and 74 people hospitalised. The case became controversial when Sergio Berni (Minister of Security of the Buenos Aires Province) warned people to throw away all of the cocaine bought in the last 24 hours. He later said "we all know where drugs are being sold." The case was controversial because it highlighted how much the government knows about the illegal drug market, and how little are they doing to actually fix it. The Buenos Aires Provincial Police, by the way, has 90,000 employees; and Argentina is the non-micronation with more cops per capita.
