Posted by u/ 15 hours ago Bad babysitting experience During the pandemic, I've started babysitting for two pre-teen boys (a 9 year old and a 12 year old). Usually, it's nothing that I can't handle. It's not a bad job for a 19 year old. The 12 year old is a bit of a trouble maker, he has a lot of behavior issues which require extra attention for him. He likes to spend a lot of time on his laptop.. his mother believes that he is using the time on his laptop for homework. Today, I learned that this isn't true -- he actually seems to be getting onto some transphobic websites. I was sitting on the couch watching Doctor Who this afternoon while he was working on "homework" on his laptop. He came up to me and tapped me on the shoulder. "Are you a tr*nny?" he asked. My face got a little bit red as I began to explain that the word he just used is hurtful. Before I could finish explaining, he started to dance around, chanting "dilate tr*nny, dilate tr*nny". I know that he has no idea what this means.. no 12 year old boy could. I asked him where he heard this term and he showed me a horrible transphobic meme on his computer from 9gag. I went on to explain to him how hurtful this was but he didn't seem to care, he laughed at me and then later on in the evening I noticed his younger brother pointing and snickering at me as well.
