I'm in a bit of a jam here. I'm a 19 year old male and haven't yet dated someone before, so I was really excited to go on a date with this really hot woman who's 24. Normally, that'd be a pretty big age gap but it was my first time dating so I didn't really care. Plus she only looked like 20 to me. I'm currently studying history and she's a political science major so I thought we'd be a good match due to similar interests. Add a comment We were having a good time and during our convo, while we were eating, I brought up politics and mentioned how I don't think the system works. Intrigued, she asked me why I thought that. I told her that I thought that our system was too slow and there was too much grid-locking and it wasn't good. I proposed an alternative where all the politicians would just try to find common ground and then go on with what's best for all of us. She then agreed, and told me that's what actually happens. It's just that it's meant to be slow because no one actually agrees. But to me, that's sort of the problem. Anyone can just disrupt the legislative process by just disagreeing and filisbutering like Republicans do in the Senate. I wished that there was a way we could just get everyone to agree or mostly. She kind of awkwardly looked at me and told me that if we did that, we'd be in a dictatorship. I kind of felt embarassed she said that. Obviously that's bad, but still, I wish we could get people to
