Most of the hate is stemming from the fact that she is a new alicorn.
Lauren Faust has stated that she originally intended Celestia and Luna to be the only alicorns, so it feels like she was (at least partially) created just so they could market a new princess.

That said, I will still withhold any judgement until the episode actually airs.
