I'm not going to hate on The Witch From Mercury, I don't know anything about it and I might even like it, but if spn fans were going around yelling YESSS KILL THOSE STUPID ASIAN GIRLS!!! I think that might be called out a lot faster. People seem to be voting against Destiel on principle, whilst admitting they've never seen either show but must do it either "FOR THE LESBIANS!!!" (I've seen a lot of tags saying they're voting sulemio exclusively because they're girls) or "to watch destiel die" (because apparently, a ship from a show you don't watch annoys you that much). What, is it considered cool to hate Supernatural or something? Did Misha Collins kill your dog? As I type this, it has just overtaken last bracket's Stucky vs Blackbonnet in total votes, and we've still got almost five days to go. I think I speak for the entire team when I say that I am very impressed, a little bit scared, glad that the spotlight of tumblr this week is on us and not somebody less prepared, and incredibly grateful to my past self for making sure this poll wouldn't be ongoing when I got on a plane. The fandom history discussions have been very interesting, as have the splits in people's reasons for voting- are you voting for the ship that's the best? That's the most impactful on tumblr culture?
