It is the Master of Miniature Games by the will of the shareholders and master of a million consumers by the might of its marketing department. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with profit from the Dark Age of Capitalism. It is the Carrion Lord of Warhammer, for whom a thousand wallets are emptied, for whom paints are thinned and brushes licked. Underpaid designers and store managers - the stuff of which Warhammer is made. To be a hobbyist in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to play the most expensive and most exploitative game imaginable. This is the tale of those times. Forget the power of creativity, community and greenstuffing. Forget the promise of balance and timeless rulesets, for there is no joy amongst gamers, only an eternity of production and consumption and the laughter of shareholders.

These Necrontyr were fated to live terrible lives, as their homeworld's o-zone had been evaporated, and so their lives were short and they died if cancer at 20, usually. These Necrontyr hoped foe one thing that would save them: immortality. So when they ran into the Old One's - a powerful, god-like race who, of course, knew the secret to immortality, they pleaded with them for immortality. The old ones said "piss off", and so, the Silent King of the Necrontyr dynasties declared war upon the old ones. The Necrontyr promptly got their s--- kicked in. Then another god-like race called the C'tan showed up and promised to help the Necrontyr, and to give them immortality. This was, of course, a horrific trap, and the Necrontyr were dragged in chains into bio-transference chambers, where they were stripped of their flesh and their souls were eaten by the C'tan. The Necrontyr became the soulless automatons, the Necrons as they were called. The C'tan, with their new found Necron army, genocides the Old One's, who in desperation created two races to fight the C'tan. The Eldar and the Krorks. The C'tan won, however, and skipping forwards a bit, the Silent King who had retained his sentience, rebelled against the C'tan in something called The War in Heaven. Eventually they shattered the C'tan and trapped them in chambers, kinda like pokemon. Then they went to sleep in their tombs, to awake 70 million years later to reclaim the galaxy.
