Sure, he did some villainous things in the beginning, but that was Stillwell's influence on him, along with what Vought done to him. He's since redeemed himself. Fatherhood changed him for the better. Not turned into the goodie two shoes superman-like hero, for sure. More of an anti hero yes, if you will, but with the heart in the right place, and people who can't see it are just biased. We all have past sins, and God knows people like Butcher and Frenchie for instance have them in Spades. But does that turn them into villains? Real villain here is Vought. Homelander is just a victim trying to do his best for his kind, and humans just are trying to do the same. Humans are supes playthings yes, he's right about that, as a superior species.
