Applies to nipples IRL. Show a little bit of one, and it becomes obscene. Sometimes "just a little" is plenty. Drawings are the same, because they're depictions of a figure (in this case) presenting sexuality. So the same general guidelines apply. I wouldn't say it's stupid for a line to be explicit when it represents (and therefore is perceived as) an point of obscenity. If people generally can see that, then the fact that it is merely a line is irrelevant. It's obscene, because the artist made it to be as such, and his/her audience perceives it as such.

In practicality, KYM would never use that logic to allow this sort of (non-photoshopped) content. Cheezburger would run us out and rightfully so.

Speaking of photoshopping, it makes it NSFW instead of X-rated, sure. But I never got the point of having to edit an image just to upload it to a gallery on KYM. I don't objectively have a problem with R34. That's not my business. But to edit an image (rather poorly) just to upload it to KYM is…a little sad, to be honest.
