My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - NOW it begins.

I really hope they don't do the "Scootaloo can't fly" thing. That would be a little too depressing for my liking. Not to mention the feels that it (and the fanfics, comics, and fanart) would generate would overwhelm my cold, dead heart.

I've said this elsewhere, but I really think that Scootaloo being disabled is a fascinating concept for the show. We don't like the characters because of their strengths, we like them because of their weaknesses. We identify with their faults because they make the characters more "human." A physical disadvantage is symbolic to everyone who has ever had to cope with the reality of not being able to do something. My advice: don't assume that this concept will depreciate the character in any way.

That said, it's also likely that they will introduce a handicapped character for the sole purpose of having this episode. I would much rather they address the concept with the characters at hand.
