/mlp/ is kind of like the racist grandfather of the Brony fandom: he's pretty belligerent and crude and the things he says are kind of appalling sometimes, but he's still sort of endearing in a snarky, cranky kind of way. I mean, he can get pretty loud (especially when he's been hitting the family drink too hard) and plus there's that whole problem he has with keeping his bowels under control, but the family sort of owes their existence to him (kind of), and he always speaks his mind, you know? And that's pretty admirable. I guess.
