I think the reason I love Rarity is be- cause in any other TV show aimed at young girls, she would have been an antagonist. She would have been the mean pretty girl who was selfish, narcis- tic and evil. Because if you were too pretty you had to be dumb and mean too. Despite the fact that the main characters of those shows were often if not always just as pretty and per- fect, it is a cartoon after But Rarity is pretty (just like all the other ponies), likes fashion, but is also gen- erous, smart and clever (THIISSS IS WHIIIINING) and not just likes fashion but designs herself. In a world where girls are told they can only be one or the other, Rarity is a good example of how you can be anything you want.

You know, this is a really well thought out explanation of why one is your favorite pony. I can appreciate this post and the fact that all of this is completely right about Rarity. AND, it's totally true. She's clever, fun, a fashionista, and smells of marshmallows. What's not to like?
