Funny thing is when I was little I had Earthbound and loved it, yet when I played Smash Bros I didn't recognize him. xD I was still "who is this hat kid?" lol. To be fair, I always named "Ness" a different name.

They removed the redhead and replaced him with roid rage.
Now there's more of them why?
Point being that smash did introduce the states to a few characters like earthbound and fire emblem
