The X Empire is a series of Youtube videos that has a format of repeating and flipping of the screen, along with zooming in and out while Eric Prydz’s Call On Me loops in the background.

Origin

The first version is made by Youtuber hoboware in 2009. Based on the 2004 song Call On Me by Swdish producer Eric Prydz, and using clips from David Chappelle’s skit “Red Balls”, it has garnered over 50 respond videos and more similar derivatives.

Spread
The video had garnered numerous responses after its initial upload in 2009. One of the most notable examples is made by popular Youtuber R33MIX, which sparked a new wave of response videos in early 2012.
