Sometimes, companies make some pretty big mistakes when marketing their products and services. This is because reaching out to the younger generations nowadays can be difficult. But when they're trying to do so through some very dead memes, their strategy clearly isn't going to work, because it's just going to leave everyone who sees it rolling their eyes. It's particularly difficult to look at when the people behind these posts don't seem to understand online culture whatsoever and are just throwing some "trendy" things together to try and draw in new business.
We know better than to assume these companies are just trying to be friendly to our demographic; instead, this habit of using memes in advertising seems to be a malicious way to try and squeeze some money out of a whole generation of people who can't even afford their own rent or student loans.
