15 Times Internet Users Were Unexpectedly Wholesome

Have you ever stumbled across something that you expected to be a lot darker, but it turned out to be kind of wholesome instead? Apparently, there are lots of social media posts out there that fit in this category, which can definitely help restore your faith in humanity, because they prove that even though the online community is typically kind of terrible, not all surprises you'll find on there are horrible. In fact, the following images prove that people can act in unexpected ways to improve the lives of others, which is certainly a rare sight online that we're thankful to come across once in a while.

As this never-ending lockdown carries on, it's nice to know good stories are available, despite the insanity displayed on the news. And it's always more fun when they're found in some of the most unexpected places. Here are 15 of our favorite posts collected from the subreddit /r/UnexpectedlyWholesome. By the way, where can we donate to Edith?

Helpful People Using The Internet For Good

noah michelson @noahmichelson I just saw a Reddit post by someone with extreme anxiety asking how to order a sandwich at Subway because they've never tried it and someone replied and wrote out step-by-step instructions without being snarky or judgmental and it's the kindest, sweetest thing I've seen in months

That Better Have Been The Album Cover

Suzalt of Rivia X @SuzyLemmingroad Ok, so my little brother has a friend who plays in the Black Metal band. He and the band were going out into the woods and taking a photo for the album cover, but just in that photo was taken our little friend slid in the snow. Wholesome Glow Up

I knew a guy who sold weed in high school & college. One time he made pot brownies to sell. In the process, he discovered a love for baking. Dude's a pastry chef now, wears cute aprons.

When You Make An Account To Help Someone Out

1 week ago xoluvvv Hey Lana, you really need to get your hamster a bigger cage and wheel. You could easily get a plastic container for like $10 and your hamster would be so much happier. Signs of stress include climbing on bars, chewing bars, and squeaking all of which your hamster did in the vid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VoBRJrr2_0 here's a short vid about hamster care you should watch if you wanna make your hamster more comfortable. Literally made an account just to tell you lol 23 Reply

You Can Picture Their Smiles

Douglas Webber @dougwebberecon One of my absolute favorite things: After a PhD student finishes their dissertation defense and the committee discusses while the student is outside the room. I love opening the door to bring the student back in and simply saying "Doctor". 17 times and counting. 12:45 PM - 18 Jun 18

Superhero Karen

My Mom is a literal Karen, as in...it's her name. But she's like a Bizarro Karen. She will constantly ask to speak with managers and supervisors and bosses... But when said managers arrive, she unloads about the employee helping her out was fantastic, hardworking and friendly. And then she'll spend 20 minutes trying to figure out if she and the manager know someone in common. Nine times out of 10 they do. As a kid it would embarrass me, as an adult it's one of my favorite things about her. She makes people feel good about the work they do-and it's really special to watch how wonderful she makes people feel. SUBSCRIBE

Anything For Edith

November 13 at 8:17am e Yesterday I went to the drive thru atm at my bank as I was putting my card in I noticed where the money comes out of that there was money in it, I reached down and took it, it was $500.00 I drove around to the bank and took it in, I told the teller what happened and handed her the money, she wouldn't take it and she called the manager over he said what do you expect me to do with it, I told him well maybe you could check and see who was the one right before me, he took my name and number, today I received a call from him he said it was a three way call and he had the owner of the money on the phone with us, her name was Edith and she is 92 years old she was taking the money out for rent, her rent was $480.00 and she wanted to give me the twenty dollars that was left for a reward, it was all the money she had for the rest of the month, I told her absoulty not and to have a great day. After I got off the phone I got to thinking about it, twenty dollars to last her the rest of the month. I called the bank manager and told him to transfer $200.00 from my acct to hers a co worker heard what I was doing and said he would chip in $100.00, about a hour later the bank manager called me and told me that he told all the tellers what did and they came up with another 300.00 to go with the other money for Edith so today was a good day, Merry Christmas a little early Edith III
