25 People Being Called Out For Lying On Social Media
It turns out, perhaps unsurprisingly, there's a lot of liars online. This might not be a shock, and it's honestly kind of impressive what sorts of things people will try and get away with, from writing articles on completely made-up subjects to trying to publicly glorify their own comments on Reddit while claiming to be someone else (and forgetting to switch to their alternate account). It's embarrassing to see, and when someone calls them out for it, it's pretty entertaining for the rest of us.
Even though we may seek out the validation social media holds, at least we're not doing it by coming up with terrible stories, fake news headlines, and some of the dumbest, misinformed social media posts you can imagine. It's pretty easy to verify things like this in the modern day. All it takes is a quick search or a look back on someone's post history. Or just common sense, really. Some are obvious, and some are more difficult to spot, but all of these posts contain lies that were caught and consequently called out on a public forum. Here are some of our favorite times people needed a reality check after posting something stupid.
