Some people critiqued the decision to have both singers perform together and responded with general cynicism.
Miami flavor? JLo is from the Bronx; Shakira is from Barranquilla https://t.co/eIDGH9oV0E

Still don’t understand why JLO is also performing, Shakira could pull it all by herself she has so many hits, vocals and presence and impact on pop culture, JLO barley has like 3 “good” songs and doesn’t she started her career stealing songs? #PepsiHalftime pic.twitter.com/sB3sOFM1Tt

However, the biggest response to this news came from Twitter users who really just wanted to know where Pitbull was, and why he wasn't the first choice to perform since he is from Miami.
…..Pitbull busy?? https://t.co/TJBrhak5Ij

This is also a big moment for the criminally underloved Pitbull who will certainly be part of the halftime show

Here's hoping Mr. Worldwide joins both performers on stage in February, so that everyone can sleep soundly at night.
