It all began with an innocent interview at the Gotham Awards when a Variety reporter asked actress Laura Dern if she had seen Baby Yoda, seemingly meaning had she seen either The Mandalorian or witnessed the birth of the only thing currently uniting us all on Twitter. Instead, the answer Dern provided shocked the entire internet when she claimed she "thinks she saw Baby Yoda at a basketball game."

Of course the questions began to pore in.

Regardless of how wild her claim is, she is Laura Dern and we should definitely believe her.

Even if say he committed a crime, and that's why she couldn't delve further into her personal experience of seeing him.

With only a few weeks left, some argued this was the wildest thing to happen in 2019.

Of course several thought maybe she was confusing the CGI muppet with a rapper.

And even though a rapper with that name doesn't exist, some were inspired to launch a career.

Of course the memes were in full effect.

Because it's perhaps one of the funniest things to happen in awhile.

And will carry on until at least next October, when we find ourselves in search of a Halloween costume.

Of course, there is a possibility that Dern wasn't actually lying.

Because this evidence is pretty strong.

Especially since she too, lives in the Star Wars universe.

With that being said, we're happy this dialogue began.

And can all agree with this point.

Baby Yoda has yet to accept a role in Big Little Lies Season 3, but we are certainly looking forward to it.
