The Hill Says Trump Is 'Edging' Biden In Arizona And Florida, Putting A Horrible Image In The Internet's Mind

With the 2020 United States Presidential Election roughly 40 days away, much of the nation's attention is drawn to the polls of swing states which will prove crucial in deciding if Joe Biden or Donald Trump will serve as President over the next four years. This means that any small change in the polls is headline news, and when a recent poll by ABC News/Washington Post has found Trump with a lead in Florida and Arizona, two states where most polls have Biden maintaining a lead, The Hill jumped on the story.

This in itself wouldn't be noteworthy if it weren't for the way The Hill chose to frame this story, tweeting out the headline, "Poll: Trump edging Biden in Arizona, Florida."

Now, the internet is a very miserable and very horny place, and it should be common knowledge for social media managers that you never give Twitter users an opportunity to make a double-entendre, but The Hill forgot this rule. For those unaware, "edging" in a sexual context means to bring either oneself or one's partner to the precipice of orgasm but denies them the opportunity, so saying "Trump is edging Biden" put a horrible image in Twitter users' minds, one they were all too happy to joke about.

In other relevant news, the polls are both outliers among others conducted in those states. In Arizona, ABC/Washington Post gives Trump a +1 lead while other recent polls have given Biden leads between +1 and +9 points, according to RealCleaPolitics. In Florida, the poll found a +4 lead for Trump, which is 4 points more for Trump than any other recent poll has found.

With only a few weeks to go until November 3rd, the election continues to ramp up in intensity and speed, moving towards an epic, glorious climax that will leave many Americans relieved and dying for a smoke.
