It is important to know that Parkrose School District denied this request from KOIN for the pablic record this past week. We denied this request because we believe the release of the video is a violation of student rights through the Family Edacational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). In addition, the release of the video has a significant impact on the students, staff, and families of Parkrose High School. This was a traumatic event for our stodents, staff, and community We are very disappointed that KOIN news chose to release the video without our permission and consideration of the impact of releasing the footage. On behalf of the Parkrose School District, I am very sony this video was released. Our High School has been through a great deal due to this uafortunate event, and we will contimue to do our best to keep ouar students and staff safe Sincerely Michael Lopes Semao Superintendent 2:38 PM Oct 19, 2019 Hootsuite Inc.
