It's been a week since Matt Reeves' The Batman came out, and it's not a spoiler to say that it is undoubtedly the gloomiest live-action Batman movie ever released. After a gripping opening sequence, the film introduces us to Robert Pattinson's take on Batman by showing him riding a motorcycle through Gotham while Nirvana's "Something In The Way" scores the moody intro.

The use of the closing song on Nirvana's breakthrough album Nevermind literally sets the tone for the film, as much of The Batman's score utilizes the song's musical motifs. It also was clearly memorable, as apparently The Batman viewers can't stop listening to the tune. According to Chart Data, streams of the track have increased more than 1,200 percent since the release of the movie, and it's currently the No. 2 song in the U.S.

The surge of the song's popularity and its prevalence in the biggest movie in the world have made it ripe for memes, as The Batman viewers have gotten to posting their jokes about how the song now makes them feel like Batman.

Director Matt Reeves has also hinted that he wants to make a sequel to The Batman, which certainly opens up the possibility for more Nirvana deep cuts to get their time in the spotlight. Could we soon see The Caped Crusader beating up The Joker to "Pennyroyal Tea?" It'll likely be years before we know for sure, but until then, "Mmm-mmm," Batman fans.
