North Korea Has Dropped Manure Balloons On South Korea
In what sounds more like a Monty Python skit than an act of psychological warfare, North Korea has dropped hundreds of balloons carrying manure and other trash onto South Korea.
The South Korean military identified over 260 balloons carrying bags of animal feces and other rubbish sent from North Korea and called the act "base and dangerous." North Korean officials stated the act was retaliation to a long-running practice of South Korean activists and defectors sending balloons carrying anti-Pyongang propaganda, USB drives with K-pop and K-dramas, and other goods northward.
Bomb squads were sent to collect the (presumably quite smelly) balloons sent from the North, but no injuries have been reported as a result of the "attack."
While Korean officials on both sides are talking about the balloon salvos very seriously, social media has been less reverent, and many have admitted to finding North Korea's feces balloon launch a comical act of pettiness.

South Korean officials stressed that they would respond to the provocation "calmly," so it's unlikely that the balloon "attacks" between the two Koreas will escalate to anything decidedly less funny.
