Photos of Joaquin Phoenix Dressed As Napoleon Bonaparte on the set of Napoleon.

New photos of actor Joaquin Phoenix have surfaced today of him on the set of the upcoming movie Napoleon, directed by Ridley Scott. The photographs show Phoenix dressed as French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, looking posh and rather serious.

Previously known for his Oscar speech and becoming the Joker, Phoenix hasn't surfaced in meme attention since his role in Joker back in 2019, which inspired memes en masse like Dancing Joker, Tracksuit Joker and I'm Tired Of Pretending It's Not, just to name a few. The film was packed with multiple scenes and quotes worthy of memes, and it seems that this first glimpse of him in Napoleon is already setting off social media once again.

After they were unveiled this morning by the Daily Mail, the photographs surfaced on Twitter, reposted by the account @cravemedia_. Over the course of the day, the tweet amassed roughly 1,000 likes and was quote retweeted by a film account with a larger following, @FilmUpdates, who spread the image macros further.

Building off this spread, Phoenix fanatics across the platform started to re-caption him in droves, trying to find the perfect sentence to match his aura as the iconic French commander.

If anything, the photoshoot, which was obviously taken from a distance, is only doing good for the movie. For an actor who has been memed consistently throughout the years, he doesn't seem to mind the publicity either. His memeability only seems to be a symptom of his acting prowess.
