A woman sleeps through a date at a Michelin-starred restaurant. The fee to cancel a reservation at the establishment is $70. The jilted date brings this up, seemingly wanting the woman to pay the fee, but the woman senses that this monetary dispute is proof they won't be a match and refuses to pay up. Who's in the right?

This debate hit Twitter over the weekend when user @bossbratbimbo laid out the story from her perspective, saying "slept through my Michelin res last night and have no regrets bc I avoided a man who behaves like this."

Showing screenshots of texts between her and her would-be date, bossbratbimbo reveals that the guy brought up the $70 canceled reservation fee after she slept through their date. She seems to think this is "small s---" and apparently refuses to pay up, telling her date she can already tell they're not going to click. After he straightforwardly asks her to pay the fee, she says he sounds "b----made with "small d--- energy." She also showcased some back and forth in which they began shooting more insults at each other.

Providing some further context, she mentioned the date was scheduled for 11 p.m. and she claimed she hadn't slept in, by her telling, 40 hours, which she explained to her date before he made the reservation.

Many on social media were flabbergasted that the woman refused to pay the cancelation fee, as the tweet earned a hefty 5,100-130 quote-tweet to retweet ratio over the course of three days. A fair amount of responses came from people claiming she should have absolutely paid the fee, regardless of whatever vibe the man was giving off.

Though many voiced strong disagreement with bossbratbimbo's point of view, others were on her side, thinking that the man "sweating" $70 was unmanly behavior and evidence he shouldn't be dating if that felt like an outrageous sum of money.

Several others believed there may have been some clue that the situation would play out as it did, had the man only checked the woman's Twitter.

very disappointing behavior

The situation has become yet another hotbed of discourse surrounding dating and money.

A similar viral situation played out almost three months ago after a woman ditched her date because he wouldn't spend an extra $3 to get cheese on his burger.

With the dating scene as it is, perhaps it would be best for all parties involved to plan first dates at more modest establishments, lest both date-goers end up in a viral pickle.
