@Forever A Brolan. You dumbass. The anime industry is full of people like Miyazaki. Just on the top of my head I can think of Isao Takahata, Makoto Shinkai, Satoshi Kon, Mamoru Oshii, Mamoru Hosoda, and plenty more. Sure a lot of anime is shit, but most of everything is (Sturgeon's Law). If you look in the right places, the anime industry is a gold mine.

Also, animation is a medium, not a genre.
