Unpopular opinion
I never see a chance for shantae or any indie character be in Smash bros mostly becuase they aren't that popular or very obscure also with vocal small fanbase that isn't big as the characters in the game.

I see where you're coming from, but Matt Bozon started this whole "indie dev tweets for their character to be in Smash" trend, and of course it started with an indie that makes lots of sense: a history with Nintendo, character that could use the spotlight, unique gameplay from the series that can be used in Smash.
