Steven Universe - why is nobody even mentioning it

I feel like there is a joke here that I don't get.

Kids old enough to watch the show are smart enough to realise that violence with weapons like knives and guns is very dangerous. And Pearl very consistently scolds Steven every time he tracks the blood of his victims back into the house. I'm more worried about Peridot's habitual amphetamine use.
