Now I wonder if it was a subber having a bit too much fun, but after deciding to watch the chinese-with-subs version to check that Frieza's "insolent worm" was actually "shit monkey", the characters changed a bit for me. Vegeta seemed less cold, Goku a bit more air-headed and so on.

The point is, from the sub I watched, the idea I got was that Goku kinda regrets only having tapped that once – Being a man of his word, stuck to it even after he realized marriages aren't edible. But if he had a choice…

I realized that at the moment Goku, acting like Earth's representative, succesfully bribes Elder Kai (when he didn't allowed them to use Dragon Balls) by offering the hottest thing his galaxy had to offer. Remember, this guy once killed a god, his monkey and cricket to save Earth. Making the mother of all omelets here Vegeta, I break only the finest eggs!
