The thing with Verlisify is not even concerning the competitive pokemon anymore. He has just become toxic in the comunity telling people to kill themselves by drinking Bleach, looking for any hints that some players cheat and blowing it out of proportions and just been very hypocritical. He has also admitted to causing controversy to make money, hence why he started the smogon shit years back.

Shofu is a player that prefers smogon, so he took what verlisify did as an attack to him ass well. In the end instead of doing the right thing, he just made both of them look childish. But while Shofu moved on, Verli has grown more out of controversy while making lots of enemies. He has went so far as to even blame smogon for losing his girlfriend.
