“All hands, unknown contact bearing two-zero point five eight by four-three point seven seven. Emergency stop!” a voice called over the ship wide intercom.
“Do you see it?” Called out the captain.
“No Captain. Nothing. Sonar, anything?” The first officer asked.
“Sir, It’s one thousand Meters out! You should have visual it’s huge! At least three thousand meters long. Sir! It just stopped off our starboard bow. Two hundred fifty meters out,” The sonar operator called out fear evident in his young voice.
“I don’t see any-” the Captain was cut off as he was thrown off his feet when the ship suddenly listed to Port.
“What was that?” The first officer called out as he pulled himself up.
The captain glanced to the nearest sailor to see his eyes open in primal fear. He followed the sailors gaze to the open door showing the ocean. Or it would have if not for the wall of metal that blocked his view. He tentatively made his way to the door. What he saw made any hope vanish from him as he gazed upon the single word that brought even the most experienced shipper to his knees.
