Fake History - A new photo of the Hickok-Tutt duel

This is a photo of the infamous Wild Bi11 Hickok - Davis Tutt due1 taken from an upper level of a nearby building. This was one of the few recorded instances of a one vs. one quick-draw revolver duel in a public place during the old West. The duel itself was the culmination of a series of eents in which Tutt and Hickok, had to do with allegations of Hickok (right) fathering a bastard child with Tutt's sister, while Tutt (left) had allegedly been making romatic advances t Moore, a lover of Hickok. This all lead to the point where Hickok, an avid gambler would refuse to participate in any card game that Tutt was invovled in. Tutt responded to this by openly supporting other local card-players with advice and money in a dedicated attempt to bankrupt Hickok. After one particularly bad card game in which Hickok was publicly (and deliberately) humiliated by Tutt he was left indebted to Tutt. Both men argued over the exact amnount Hickok owed with neither man attempting to be reasonable. This was all happening while Tutt held a gold pocket watch, as collateral. of Springfield, Missouri. With very few words exchanged the men both came to the conclusion that there was nothing left to be said and proceeded to both duel honorably. A few moments later the black powder had cleared and Davis Tutt was dead. (July 21st, 1865)
