Sheesh, I'm more invested in what goes on in these kids' lives than "the secret world inside your phone." How much do you have to fail that the regular world of your movie looks more interesting than the fantasy?

This pic shows this movie had potential to be a sweet romance movie between these two preteens, maybe the boy is incredibly shy and has a huge problem communicating and uses texting as a way to talk with people, but failing at talking like a normal person and she takes an interest in him and helps him learn how to talk naturally, maybe even overcome a speech problem and if you really need sentient emojis in there, then make 'em like just side characters helping out but it's ambiguous as to whether they're real or not.

But no, we gotta have this cringe fest rip off of Wreck It Ralph and Inside Out.
