Complaining about automation is pretty silly thouglh Like Reply 1 1 hr ~ Hide 15 Replies It's not the automation that's the problem. In fact, automation should mean that everyone gets more time off. However, private ownership of the means of production (in this case, a supermarket) leads to lower wages and fewer jobs rather than more time off or more benefits for employees. Such a thing would not happen if the employees were democratically in charge of businesses. Unfortunately, the oligarchic control of ever fewer choices in doing business means that we're sliding into a neo- feudal system. Fewer jobs, lower wages, and the manorial lords own everything while the rest of us pay for the privilege to keep the table scraps from the meals we produce.
