Japan is actually heading towards a revitalization of their imperialist fascist era and they still think they did nothing wrong in WW2. Right now, in fact, Japan is trying to get authorization to turn their self-defense military into an actual military.

So yeah, unlike the Germany one, this may actually happen in the near future.
