Well things considered, he's outed himself as a conspirator with Salem. He cant maintain his place of authority in Haven or Mistral, and once enough people know they'd hold him responsible for the huntsman/huntress disappearances. He's lost his usefulness, and we know what Salem does to people who lose their usefulness…. well actually we dont, but we might figure it out sooner or later.
