It's Pride Month, You Know What That Means or It Is Pride Month, Walter refers to a series of redraw memes in which one character in the webcomic tells another, "It is Pride Month, you know what that means," and the other responds with confusion, failing to understand how Pride Month effects the task at hand. The original version of the meme was posted to Tumblr in July 2022 and depicts Gustavo Fring from Breaking Bad saying the line to Walter White, who asks Fring if he wants them to make "gay meth." In June 2023, the meme went viral on Twitter, inspiring redraws featuring new characters.

Origin

On July 14th, 2022, Tumblr^[1] user flashcs5 posted a Breaking Bad webcomic in which Gustavo Fring approaches Walter and Jesse and says, "It's Pride Month, Walter. You know what that means." Walter responds, "Huh, what," then, as Fring walks away in the next panel, says, "Do you want us to make like gay meth what?" The post gained over 47,000 notes in a year (shown below).

Spread

The meme gained viral spread over the next year. On August 26th, 2022, it was reposted by Twitter^[2] user @ladon_alex, writing, "this is more important than the sistine chapel," garnering over 59,000 likes in 10 months. On June 1st, 2023, Twitter^[3] user @dcsh4_pvr reposted it, writing, "happy pride month everyone," garnering over 57,000 likes in five days.

The meme became the subject of redraws on Twitter over the following days. For example, on June 4th, 2023, Twitter^[4] user @PacketOfStaples posted an Undertale redraw of the meme, garnering over 11,600 likes in two days (shown below, left). On the same day, Twitter^[5] user @bearionette posted an FNAF redraw of the meme, garnering over 4,600 likes in the same span of time (shown below, right).

On June 5th, Twitter^[6] user @_ceniwen posted a Genshin Impact redraw that gained over 10,600 likes in a day (shown below). That day, Tumblr^[7][8] users also began uploading redraws of the meme to the site.
