I think the implication was that Ghira was going to ask if he let the teens… 'sort out romantics' on their own, and thats why Qrow brought up Ren and Nora cause there was at least a minor implication they are together together with the hand holding

Yeah, but it's still kinda stilted. One or two more words before Ghira gets cut off would have made it flow more smoothly.
