I think a huge factor in that people have been joking about this one rather than taking it as seriously as Parkland or San Bernadino or any other really bad shooting is that no one died in this shooting (except the shooter herself). I wouldn't say that it isn't a tragic event, since someone going that far off the deep end isn't a good thing and it still must have been sheer terror for the victims, but with no one slain, people are less likely to think joking about it is too insensitive.
