Sonic Mania - Sonic Mania Plus & Amy

I don’t care what other people have to say about Sonic’s friends. A lot of hero’s journeys involve the hero gathering a group of companions to help him on his journey, e.g. cooperative multiplayer, team objective and last team standing games (e.g. Overwatch and PUBG’s squads mode, respectively), party-based RPGs, and non-video game examples like superhero teams (e.g. Cyborg 009, Gatchaman, Super Sentai), combining mecha (e.g. Voltron and the Megazord), magical girl teams (e.g. Sailor Moon, Pretty Cure, Winx Club, W.I.T.C.H., Tokyo Mew Mew, Magical DoReMi, MLP: FiM’s Mane Six, and Madoka Magica), shonen battle companion characters (e.g. Naruto, Ichigo, and Luffy’s respective groups of friends), etc.

If we can have all of those aforementioned examples of team-based hero’s journeys, then why can’t we have Sonic’s friends?

The fans get Mighty and Ray, and they want Amy.

The fans get Amy, and they're going to want the Chaotix.

The fans get every Sonic character that ever existed, and they'll want to make their own characters like in Forces.

When do we draw the line and decide we've got enough?
