NOW I see what was so off about it. I still don't hate the reveal or even the design, necessarily. I just think they could have done better to make the silhouette match, or the other way around, or meet them in the middle. It is a delicate balance, though, trying to make Ralsei a shadowy version of Asriel without making it obvious that's what he is. And if he looked like this version, instead, I could see people not getting the reveal at all. So while what we got wasn't a terrible execution of the plan, surely there was something better that could have been done, and we just aren't thinking of it.
