A democratic socialist.
Left or right he was against totalitarianism to the point where literature or media portraying totalitarian, all-controlling regimes devoid of expression or individual autonomy has been termed "Orwellian." He literally became the name behind warning people about dictatorship.
So with this being said, I seriously do not hope you are advocating a position where he, or anyone who was as averse to strict authoritarianism as he was, would outwardly or inwardly support what is more or less the perpetual practice of the two-minutes hate, and not only that, but the extreme judgement levied on anyone who is considered to not be in line with the current political zeitgeist typical of such political bodies found in his works, such as IngSoc. Please give me a reason for me to believe my faith can still be rewarded.
