Considering he's only genocidal towards demons that want to bring about death and destruction to innocent people, I think her parents could guess well that he'd be a great, though incredibly gruff and standoffish, caretaker to a decently good girl like her, since he'd likely do his best to steer her clear of becoming like those "bad boys".

On his days off, Doomguy is Satina's babysitter.
