Fun fact: There's a theory regarding the artifact this is based on. It might not be some sicko's plaything, but rather used by pregnant women in order to help pinpoint specific parts of their body since they likely didn't have mirrors. Note the fact that there's no facial features and undefined feet, likely meaning that a pregnant woman sculpted it herself while looking down (hard to see your feet when you're pregnant, can't see your face without a mirror).
This theory was presented in the 1996 article "Toward Decolonizing Gender" by Leroy McDermott and Catherine McCoid. When they presented it, no one refuted against it. They had nothing to refute. Nobody, of course accepted it either, by the fact that I have to type this out. Why not? I honestly can't say. I guess people just like to think that men back then were a bunch of weirdos, rather than it being a leap forward for medicine.
